Michigan wedding personal vows at Brownstown Event Center

Jordan and Chad’s wedding was a long time coming. I first spoke to Jordan in early 2019 about photographing her wedding and we realized we were both figure skaters, bonding over spending our college days skating and repping our schools. Due to COVID, Jordan and Chad had to postpone their wedding 3 times, each time needing to make venue changes and alter plans so when the day finally came around, and they were able to have their dream wedding, you can tell everyone was just excited the day had finally come.

Chad played hockey and met Jordan at their local ice rink while in college at Oakland University and after over 4 years together, they’re finally married and the wedding turned out to be a beautiful sun-filled Michigan wedding day.

I met Jordan and her girls at her parent’’s house where they spent the morning getting dolled up. A few minutes across town, Chad and his friends were getting ready at his parents’ house. Chad was super nervous before the ceremony but that all stopped the minute he saw Jordan walk down the aisle at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church (I caught some tears, it was sweet).

Jordan and Chad share personal vows they had written for each other after the ceremony in the church’s garden. I’m obsessed with this moment and how intimate and personal the vows were. I honestly felt a little guilt being a part of it and hearing them read the words they had written for one another but the photos from this part of the day are some of my absolute favorites.

Now officially married, we met their wedding party at Brownstown Event Center in Brownstown, Michigan for some photos before their reception.

The rest of the evening was filled with gathering, food, dancing and celebration. The late Spring day at the end of May turned out to be perfect weather. The morning started out super windy but in the end, it could not have been sunnier.
