For Adrienne and Mark, Ann Arbor, Michigan is the city where they met, dated and first lived together. And it just so happened that only a few months after their engagement session, they’d be moving out of state. This made their winter downtown Ann Arbor engagement session the perfect way to capture this season and location of their story together.
We started the evening at the University of Michigan’s beautiful law quad and then meandered and walked down to Ann Arbor’s downtown Main Street area. Along the way, we ducked into Nickel’s Arcade for a coffee from Comet Coffee (Mark is a big lover of coffee).
It was a typical Michigan afternoon in February that turned out a bit gloomy and overcast and was definitely chilly. But this didn’t bother Adrienne or Mark much and I actually really love the cozy sense it brought to the moments between them. Shooting into the start of “blue hour” – the first few minutes after the sun sets when the light casts everything with a slight layer of blue – was really fun.
Adrienne and Mark’s winter downtown engagement session was a beautiful way of capturing their love here in Detroit before they take on Texas. I can’t wait to see them again for their wedding day later this year at Lovett Hall at The Henry Ford Museum.
