Madison and I tag teamed on some personal branding photos for each other (perks of knowing and being photographers!) and decided to try out the relatively new West Studio in Ferndale, Michigan.
With the rise of social media and the importance of personal connection and “showing your face,” personal branding photos are KEY! Personal branding photography, unlike headshots, is really based on show-casing the you behind the brand that makes it unlike any other competitor. Photos (and cohesive and consistent photos at that) across your branding serves to amplify your brand values and messaging, helping you to attract your ideal client – or those that “vibe” with you the most.
I spent an hour photographing Madison during her branding session across two backdrops and two looks. Kelsey of Roman Beauty is a friend of ours and make-up artist and got Madison glammed up and feeling great for the shoot and from there, we just had a lot of fun! Madison’s brand, Light Garden Photography, is about laidback, nature-loving couples and so, when working with her, I wanted to capture Madison’s fun-loving personality and energy with some movement, expression and lots of laughing. Naturally, we incorporated Madison’s signature hat and various cameras in the photos. I love how this free-spirited personal branding session at West Studio turned out!
We started Madison’s session on the neutral off-white backdrop at West Studio before moving on to their nutmeg color, which I personally LOVE and find so exciting compared to more typical neutrals. (Not to mention, a rusty orange is one of my favorite colors). I loved working with Madison during this free-spirited personal branding session at West Studio.
If you’re building a personal brand and hoping to connect with your audience, you need photos that speak to your personality and visual identity to use across your website and social media. Consistency (and showing your face) is the best way to build trust with your audience.
