A Michigan State University College Sweethearts Engagement Session

As much as I’ll always be rooting for the Wolverines and chanting Go Blue, I had a great time spending a summer evening on Michigan State University’s campus in East Lansing for Anna and Brad’s engagement session!

In March, before the Rona sent us all home, I hosted a giveaway on instagram for an engagement session and Anna was the lucky winner! Once things began to open back up and it was safe to hold sessions again, we scheduled their engagement session and they decided to go to East Lansing since they met while in college at Michigan State! Anna lived across the hall from Brad and it was only a short time before they met and started dating. Dates meant a lot of time in the library together and Saturday football in the fall!

5 years later and Brad proposed to Anna while they were on the beach up north in February. While roaming the chilly beach alone in their favorite place to escape to together, Brad asked Anna to marry him! And just like that, the wedding planning for their August 2021 wedding begins.

This Michigan State University college sweethearts engagement session was one for the books and after postponing thanks to rain, we wound up with the perfect sunny but not too hot evening. They both took the day off from work and made a day of their session (which I always love) and reminisced on their time at State.

The first thing Anna told me when we met at the Beaumont Bell Tower was that they were awkward in front of the camera but I think they proved otherwise. Everything from movement and laughing to jokes is welcome here, and within a few minutes, they both warmed up to the camera and had fun being themselves! We were even joined by a very fearless squirrel that wanted his picture taken 🙂

After a short time at the bell tower, we moved to the Beal Botanical Gardens which was beautiful! I loved that Anna and Brad were up for anything from running through the trees, to re-enacting their own rom com ending to sitting in the grass.

With the golden light around us, we walked over to the bride to the Spartan stadium. Anna and Brad are MSU football season ticket holders and love going to games so this area and the stadium behind them was a must-have. As we finished up their hour-long session, we walked back through the gardens for a few more photos now that some crowds had disappeared before calling it a day.

I had a wonderful time at Anna and Brad’s Michigan State University engagement session and am so excited for the two of them! Congratulations you two!
