One of my favorite things about Detroit, Michigan is the amount of history and stunning historical architecture we’re lucky enough to have all around. One of those beautiful examples is the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores along the shores of Lake St. Clair. Anushka and Sean wanted something very Detroit, architectural and classic for their photos, so an Edsel and Eleanor Ford House engagement session was perfect.
The Ford House, as you can guess, was the home of Edsel and Eleanor Ford, beginning in 1928. Today, it’s a museum and event space, perfect for engagement photos, wedding party photos and anything else. While they require a reservation and a photo fee of $150, photo sessions there are great because you have most of the outside property to yourself and a staff member to cart you around from one area to the other.
We started Nush and Sean’s engagement photos outside of the house itself before moving over towards the waterfront. From there, Nush and Sean changed into a second outfit, then we went into the garden. On top of the popular areas surrounding the house, I love the large fields and trees that line the drive up to the home. We stopped there on the way out and these are some of my favorite moments from the session.
Nush and Sean’s Edsel and Eleanor For House engagement session was a beautiful way to kick off fall in Michigan. They’re such a joyful and easy going couple. It’s been amazing to work with these two from the moment Sean got down on one knee for their proposal in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I can’t wait for their summer wedding at The Valley at Frutig Farms!
