Megan and Aaron’s University of Michigan law quad and Nichols Arboretum engagement in Ann Arbor, Michigan was one of my favorites of the winter season. Like so many couples, Megan and Aaron told me they were awkward in front of the camera and were a bit nervous for their engagement session. But after a few minutes, they settled in and by the end of the session, they were totally relaxed, comfortable and just enjoying the time together.
Megan and Aaron are best friends. After being together for a decade, they’ve developed a strong bond built from their friendship first and mutual respect, and they swear by being goofy and having fun together. They and wanted to capture this feeling in their engagement photos so that’s what we did! We met at the Law Quad on University of Michigan’s campus and got lucky with an unseasonably warm and partly sunny day for late winter in Michigan. It was still chilly, but given the sunshine, the campus was full of students taking in the weather so we worked around the crowds at the start.
After about 45 minutes on campus, we drove to the nearby Nichols Arboretum and enjoyed the open space and greenery. Their neutral sweaters and outfits complemented the natural environment beautifully yet brought warmth and coziness to the look. I especially love the way the second half of the session turned out.
Megan and Aaron’s Nichols Arboretum engagement session in Ann Arbor, Michigan brought on all the fun, free, slightly moody vibes I love and provided a safe space for them to be somewhat goofy and enjoy uninterrupted time together outside. I’m so excited for their intimate backyard wedding coming later this year! I know it will be a sweet day and a perfect celebration of their relationship after a decade together so far.
