Brittni and Dan’s glamorous moody wedding at the Detroit Opera House brought together old hollywood elegance with edgy, moody black and red “Til Death Do Us Part” vibes. It was a beautiful and fun downtown Detroit fall wedding. The wedding party wore black, the bride wore (champagne) white and the groom wore deep red. I loved the timeless attire with personalized and vibrant touches that speak to Brittni and Dan’s personal styles.
And because these two know how to have a good time, they followed up their entrance into the reception with a tequila shot before cutting into their moody Morning Glory Bakery cake. Not to mention surprising their guests on the dance floor with Encore Event Group’s Chroma-tron!
Brittni and Dan met through mutual friends 7 years ago and quickly knew they were each other’s person. They moved in together and after a few years, welcomed their beautiful daughter Willow. Brittni and Dan are friends with a past EKP couple, Genna and Ben, so I was super excited when they reached out about their downtown Detroit, Michigan wedding. When I first chatted with Brittni and Dan, Brittni said her and Dan were basically around married and had built such a beautiful home and life together that it was about time they celebrated it with their loved ones! And that’s exactly what they did.
Brittni got ready at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel while Dan got ready at their home. They met on Belle Isle at the Belle Isle Casino (where they had their first date when Brittni went to a wedding with Dan!) for their first-look. They read personal vows to one another and then we brought their wedding party out for photos around the casino and the Belle Isle fountain. Despite being on the chilly side, the cloudy day was perfect for midday Belle Isle Detroit wedding photos and complemented their edgy and moody reception style.
They held their ceremony on the Detroit Opera House rooftop, one of my favorite downtown Detroit ceremony sites! With a view of Ford Field and Detroit’s skyline, it was a stunning backdrop for their ceremony. And I will forever be obsessed with how cute Willow was when she came up the aisle as a flower girl and saw her dad standing there at the end.
Inside, in the Detroit Opera House grand hall, their reception was decorated with black linens, gold chairs and details, perfect under the grand hall chandelier, with touches of red roses and candles flickering. It was stunning and the perfect backdrop for their epic evening. After speeches and dinner, Brittni and Dan shared a first dance before dancing with Willow as the new Horvath family. And soon after, the dance floor was filled and Chroma-tron made a special appearance. Who knew a dancing, LED robot towering over your guests could set the energy so high for the rest of the evening! To put it simply, it was so cool.
It was such a treat to be a part of Brittni and Dan’s glamorous moody wedding at the Detroit Opera House. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Horvath!
